Yes, this is a good product, actually one of the best of its kind. Here are the things it does best:
--It monitors HDD health nicely (usually not an issue with the latest batch of HDDs).
--It has the best memory recovery feature, and I've used most all of them.
--The cleaner function of does a great job finding junk on the Mac and deleting it (if finds, you decide what to remove).
--The uninstaller feature is quite comprehensive; it removes the app AND ALL THE ASSOCIATED FILES AND FOLDERS an app creates. This is much better than uninstalling by dragging an app from the Applications folder to the Trash which leaves a lot of stuff behind on your drive.
--The app provides some comprehensive maintenance features like Maintenance Scripts to keep a Mac running smoothly, Flush DNS cache, Repair Disk Permissions (missing from Disk-Utility El Capitan), Verify and Repair for HDDs, Privacy to remove cookies and junk left behind by browsers, the finder and others, Extensions lets you turn extensions on and off or remove them, and Shredder that writes over disk space still occupied by deleted files.

The just average things are:
Photo Junk--finds duplicate photos that can be storage hogs. However, it considers a file a duplicate even if found on another drive. I call those backups or work in progress and won't use this feature until it is clearer as to the file location.
Trash Bins--finds deleted files and you can choose to delete them or not. This is really ho-hum and so what.
Large and Old Files--finds, well, large and old files. Really this feature finds duplicates as well and creates issues for me similar to those mentioned in Photo Junk.

You May Regret Using:
--iTunes Junk--this feature looks for all the crud iTunes developers considered important but are just storage hogs. It's good for Apple if you're using iCloud because some of this stuff eats up lots of gigs. Thing is, some of this stuff includes things you really want like the backup of your iPhone. That's not junk, in my opinion. You can select what is and is not junk. Be sure you do so, before letting CleanMyMac delete things. A good thing is it deletes the apps iTunes usually stores. Why backup the apps on your iPhone when you can reinstall them? Well, again, if you're using iCloud it eats up lots of storage and Apple charges for that.

I Hate This:
Large And Old Files--Duplicate file management is only relevant if you can clearly see where the files are stored. If they're on the same HDD, then maybe one or the other should go. However, the containing folder is often associated with some piece of work and therefore, deleting should be done with caution. When you do delete a file with this feature it finishes by producing a small add for another product they sell that does what this one should do, as in show where the files are so you can easily decide what to trash and not to trash.

Overall, I love the product. Sure, it needs works in some areas. Yet, for the things it does well, it's the best I've used.

Moreover, reportedly the founder of the company risked his life by supporting civic protests in 2014 against the corrupt government. So, no, I don’t believe MacPaw is associated with any government.

Is CleanMyMac Malware

There is a very known myth that Apple computers cannot get viruses, but more experienced users know that this is not true.

Macs do get viruses and other types of malware. If you ever had to fight with annoying pop-ups after installing a new app or an extension in Chrome, you know what I mean.

Whenever I download any software over the internet I always go thru following steps to make sure that I am not getting a malware:

Both VirusTotal and Norton assured that CleanMyMac is not a malware, or adware, or spyware of any sort.

Why is CleanMyMac not in App Store

Smart users know that it is best to install apps from the Mac App Store.

When a developer submits an app to the Mac App Store, Apple performs tests and validates the app to make sure that it does not contain any malicious code.

So, by submitting their app to the App Store, cleanmymac download, the developers get a stamp of approval from Apple itself. And any user knows, that any app downloaded from the App Store is secure, it is not a scam or spyware, it is OK to download and use, cleanmymac download.

I believe there are several explanations:
